1 Yestassë, ata merin quetë mára omentië, meldonyar, ar hantan an sina elmendeä ecesta yanta le.                    To begin with, I’d like to say again it is nice to meet you, my friends, and thank you for this wonderful opportunity to join you.
2 Síra nyaruvan len pá huonya.       Today I will tell you about my dog.

4 Nairenyanna, sí lán samë mellaman, mal andanéya, yá nánen ambë vinya, sámen hanwa huo i a-estanë Tyón.                       Unfortunately, now I do not have a pet, but long ago, when I was younger, I had a male dog who was named John.
5 Nanwavë, nánes huo ontarunyava mal yestassë coiviëryo, minyë ránastar atta hya neldë, omarnemmë, rië Tyón ar inyë, potai namin sa nánes huonya.                             Actually, he was the dog of my parents but at the beginning of his life, for the first two or three months, we lived together, only John and I, so I think he was my dog.

9 Tyón nánë valateä ar lá mauranë paltië, mal linan apantanë melmë hariénen pá queno tál.                  John was proud and didn’t need stroking but often demostrated love by sitting on a person’s foot.
10 Matya se nánë aþamahtë pan Tyón mantë matta ataníva.           Feeding him was easy because John ate human food.
11 Aþahanyë apsa nánë arya sen.       Of course, meat was the best for him.

13 Entë Tyón nánë verya ar mahtanë ilyë altë ar ulcë huor opelessë.              Also John was brave and fought with all big and evil dogs in the town.
14 Varyanes ni ar hyanë astamor nossenyo.        He protected me and other members of my family.
15 Mal néya vantanemmë ar omennemmë alta huo i nalantanë Tyón, ar mauyanë ní varya huonya.                  But one day we went for a walk and met a big dog that attacked John, and it was me who had to protect my dog.
16 Tá Tyón nánë harna mal vornë.        Then John was wounded but survived.
17 Sí ecë nin nyarë sa néya mahtanen alta ulca huo.            Now I can tell people that once I fought with a big evil dog.

19 San Tyón nánë mára ar voronda nildonya, ar sí hrímanan enyalin se.               So John was a good and faithful friend of mine, and now I often recall him.
20 Aþahanyë mélen se.     Of course, I loved him.
21 Carnes coiviënya ambë quanta.      He made my life fuller.
